Capitol
Restoration – The pair
of capitols have dried and cracked. Many scrolls and parts had fallen
off and have
been lost. The backs of both capitols had never been gilt. The
objective is to
replace what was missing, gild the backs and make all the new parts and
new
gold look original. The existing gold on the capitols has been cleaned
and the new
parts were gold leafed. The new gold was antiqued to match the existing
old
gold leaf.
