This 18th Century Highboy had all the typical problems: loose veneer a cross banding splits and cracks from contraction. All the loose veneer was lifted and the Hyde glue removed and the veneer reglued. Missing pieces were inlaid into the area. The highboy was cleaned and touched up were needed. The original finish was compounded to enhance the clarity. Sorry for the quality of the photographs the photos were taken in 1979 with a Polaroid camera. |
